Carpet Beetle

Carpet Beetle eat natural fibres such as those in wool carpets.

A common ID is carpet wear on edges of carpet against skirting where there should not be any wear as is unused – where there is low or no foot traffic.

Can be mistaken for Bedbugs as larvae can cause a rash similar to bedbugs bites and are often found behind the bed.
Can be introduced from sheets hanging outside, flowers or plant material brought in from outside and through open windows.

Hide Beetle feeds on animal products such as leathers, furs, taxidermy or carcases.

The larvae look similar to carpet beetle and they are introduced to the home in similar ways. Often this is through purchasing animal products such as those above.

How we get rid of them (safely)

Carpet Beetle is a one time treatment to your carpet.

Interior Treatment –
We treat the floor area of the home or affected business.

There is some minor prep and after care required, a list will be provided prior to treatment.

You must vacate for 6 hours following treatment, including pets.

Allow two weeks for the treatment to take effect, you may see dying larvae or beetle right up until this 2 week point.

Hide Beetle
Often a light fumigation(s)  is sufficient with affected items. Treatment of areas where items are stored are important to prevent re-infestation
