Borer

Borer

The term ‘wood borer’ covers many types of wood boring beetles.

Lifecycle of borer is up to 4 years from the egg being laid until it emerges as a fully grown beetle between October and March.
We recommend treatments are completed between September and November for best results.

How do I know if Borer is active?
Fresh holes and dust that appear between November and March generally indicate that the infestation is still active – complete extermination is not often achievable due to potentially affected timbers in inaccessible areas.

How we get rid of Borer

Buildings:
Exterior & Interior Treatments are generally required for borer control including affected areas such as the underfloor.
Long-term management is important and information is provided for ongoing recommendations.

Furniture:
Typically furniture would be treated by injecting pilot holes and/or a spray treatment.
